Is it just me, or when you have your hair tied back or up, you make an extra effort with your makeup? I’m definitely guilty of this. I’m one of those people who doesn’t feel comfortable without their hair around their face so when I have it tied away, I over-compensate by doing my makeup a bit bolder than usual. Since I’ve got my hair in French plaits at the moment so that it’ll go curly when I take them out, I switched up my eye makeup and lips today, so I thought I’d share only my eye and lip makeup today since there’s no point in mentioning my face makeup too because I’ve been using the exact same products since before I started this blog.
I used the shades Toasted and Hustle from the Naked 1 palette allover my lid. Toasted is a lovely warm, dark, neutral pink colour, and I thought it would go nicely with the pink lips. I added Hustle to intensify the dark colour, it’s a brown/purple colour, and to go with the crease colour, which was Busted from the Naked 2 palette, a darker and deeper version of Hustle. The colours complimented each other nicely and it was nice having a deep purple on my eyes rather than my lips, as it’s such a common lipstick colour for this time of year so it was fun to put a twist on that trend. I used my usual Benefit They’re Real! Push-Up Liner, then for my mascara I used the new Benefit They’re Real! Tinted Primer that came with Elle Magazine. It’s said to be a mink coloured mascara primer that promises to tint, define, and prime the eyelashes, and it can also be used alone for a natural look. In terms of the mink colour, I couldn’t tell much of a difference since my eyelashes are naturally black in colour anyway (I know, I’m ~bLeSsEd~ like that) but it did make my eyes look more awake, even on its own, and it worked so well with my mascara, Maybelline’s Lash Sensational, making my eyelashes even longer and fuller. For lips, I used my usual holy grail lipliner, MAC’s Subculture (I finally have a brand-spanking-new full size one!) underneath my Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Lip Tint in Endless Pink similar shade here (at least I think that’s what it’s called, half the label has rubbed off now). It’s such a pretty, girly pink colour and, upon discovering that it’s what all the models had on their lips at the 2014 VS Show, I had to get it.
So that was my face of the day! I think I’ll start doing more posts like this.
