October Beauty Favourites

Another month has come to an end and that calls for another round up of my favourite makeup and skincare products! November is going to be super exciting, I'm going to New York for the first time ever in a couple weeks and just before that I'm going to the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 Arena. Can you say best week of my life? Since I've been saving up for ages to go on a massive spending spree in NYC, I thought it would be a perfect time to share my recent beauty faves from October with you before I get a whole new selection of makeup from Sephora. Expect tons of NYC inspired posts (and maybe a video?) and a post on the tennis this month! For now, though, let's relive October quickly before we move onto all the excitement of November.

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

The love of my life, a dream come true, the Ultimate Basics Palette was released at the end of September and, considering that the Naked Basics is my go-to and I adore matte eyeshadows, it's my new favourite makeup item ever. I'm super lucky because there's an UD counter where I work so I managed to reserve this beauty for myself and get it as soon as I possibly could. It hasn't disappointed whatsoever. The shade range is amazing; nudes, light pinks, deep plums, warm browns, rusty tones and dark shades. It's very versatile, you can create so many different looks from the one palette, making it ideal for travelling because it's the only palette you'd ever need and you can do so much with it. Extra Bitter has become my new fave eyeshadow colour of all time and I've worn it almost every single day since getting this palette. It's safe to say I've fallen in love.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

So in my Clinique Picks post a few weeks back I mentioned this product but told you how I suspected it had very badly broken me out so I stopped using it but wanted to trail it again to see if it really was the balm that broke me out. It definitely wasn't this, I've been using it all month now and, as I said before, it's magic. It's so extremely easy to get your makeup off with this! I used to be so against snazzy methods of makeup removal and never understood how people claimed that they were easier than wipes to remove makeup (remember this post? throwback) but now I get it and I will happily take back my words from over a year ago because I've seen the light, all thanks to this beauty of a skincare product.

Topshop Contour Cream in Swerve

Where would I be without this beauty? Contouring is my thing, I always pride myself in my contour and I rely on it to stop my face looking like the yellow moon emoji. Lately I've been preferring a much, much more natural makeup look and this has been the only product I've used for contouring. No powder contour, no bronzer, nothing else. It gives the most beautiful, natural and subtle definition and manages to add some warmth to your face too.

NYX Slide On Lip Pencil in Nude Suede Shoes

I bought this on a whim a few months back when NYX finally came to Boots in Brighton to go with the Soft Matte Lip Cream I had bought (Stockholm) but didn't expect to love it this much. It dethroned Mac's Subculture as my favourite lipliner because it has such an amazing formula. It's creamy and super pigmented, stays on pretty much no matter what and makes sure that any colour you apply on top of it will not budge. I sharpened down my pencil so short at the beginning of October that I physically couldn't use it anymore because it got stuck in the lid and then, when I got it out, there was a hole where the crayon part should've been where I'd used it all up. The week that I went without it was so awful that I realised just how much I really love it and since rebuying it, it's been such a favourite purely because of how much I hated not having it for a few days.

Clinique High Impact Mascara

I've gone completely off wearing eyeliner every single day so having a lot of length and volume in my lashes is important to me to make up for not having a black wing. Layering this on top of my usual Maybelline Lash Sensational completely transforms my lashes and I feel fine not wearing any liner. It works wonders on its own too but I prefer using it over my Maybelline for a load of volume and length combined. It's changed the way I do my eye makeup and it's completed my killer mascara combo.

What are your favourite beauty items? And what are you looking forward to this November?
