These photos must be almost a month old now but I haven’t had the chance to share them on the blog yet because of all the exam/revision stress! On the day Amy and I were due to shoot I decided to throw on one of my fave outfits, a jumper dress and over the knee boots, but it soon became apparent that it was way too warm outside to wear that. I quickly had a last minute outfit overhaul and ended up wearing this outfit, which I think is perfect for the current seasonal period we’re in now, it’s too warm out for heavy items of clothing and wrapping up, but it’s not yet at the stage of going bare-legged and throwing on all the little playsuits and dresses you have (at least not yet for me!)
Wearing ripped boyfriend jeans in this kind of weather is perfect because they’re obviously more loose than the usual go-to skinny jean, and they have rips, so you can let some air in to stay cool! I went for my heeled boots that you all know I wear 24/7 baby 365 because it was still acceptable for me to wear them, but now we’re in June I probably wouldn’t unless the weather was particularly grey and miserable outside! These jeans are a little awkward for me, though, so I don’t wear them nearly as much as I’d like to. First of all, I’m not a huge fan of wide leg pants on me because it’s so easy for them to look balloon-y on me. Second, I’ve always had issues with Forever 21’s sizing of shorts and pants, especially denim ones. I believe they size by waist, and I’m usually a 24 or 25 in Topshop, so I get 24 waist jeans and shorts from Forever 21 but they end up huge. So huge. I can’t explain how big the gaps are around my waist, yet when I wear a Topshop 24 or even 25 they’re perfect. The jeans definitely don’t look the same on me as they did on the model but I do still like them, more so with more baggy and loose fit clothes though, like the jumper here or wearing a tucked in t-shirt. Because of my waist sizing issues, I bought this belt from ASOS specifically for these jeans and I love it! I’ve even been wearing the belt with my grey jeans from this post.
I am so in love with this top from Zara, would you ever believe my dad picked it out for me?! It’s about a fiver, I can’t find it on their website to confirm it but I’m pretty sure it was £4.99 and you’d probably find it instore! It comes in a few colours but I love this one because of the white edges which will be perfect for Summer to make you look nice and tanned! I love little cropped halter style tops like this and the colours of this one are so different to the standard plain black or white halter crop tops like these, which I own many of already. I’m v v impressed my dad picked this and I’m going to be wearing it all Summer long with jeans, leggings, skirts, shorts, you name it. It’s so versatile and stylish!
I also added this little jumper from Boohoo via ASOS which I am obsessed with! I’d never bought anything Boohoo prior to this jumper because their sizes are way too big for me, but I’ve actually bought a pair of shorts directly from Boohoo since which fit pretty well. The jumper is a petite size 4 which is probably the reason it actually fits, and I love it because it’s quite thin and doesn’t make you too hot. It’s a perfect cover up for when it’s warm and sunny outside but there’s that little breeze that makes you feel chilly. I love that it’s cropped, I love that it’s grey and I love the slogan look. 10/10. And of course no Summer look is complete without a killer pair of sunglasses, my Quay Australia My Girls are my faaavvveeee!
I think a little crop top with ripped boyfriend jeans, or any ripped jeans for that matter, look perfect together and give an effortlessly stylish vibe, and they suit the current weather in the UK so much!
What’s your go to outfit for this current getting-towards-Summer weather?
